There are over 500,000 real estate agents in California.
  Real Estate Salesperson Licensing in California only requires taking a class and passing a state exam.
 
Only about a 1/4 of the agents in CA are licensed Brokers.
  A Broker License requires 24 semester units of college level classes in areas that include Real Estate Law, Finance, Economics, Appraisal and Property Management. A Broker must also have several years of experience or a college degree.
 
The number of agents with Brokers Licenses has changed very little over the last 5 years while the number of Salesperson licensees has increase by almost 85%.
  The chances that you may be represented by a real estate agent with less education or experience has grown dramatically.
 
Less than 1/3 of all real estate agents are REALTORS®.
  REALTORS® are held to a strict code of ethics, and have access to numerous services and programs that enhance their professionalism and their ability to achieve their clients' goals.
